"Tommy's studio opens the mind to creative magic, and magic is what makes great music."

Analog configuration:

(Analog inputs before interface/Pro Tools)

Our 36 input custom analog console features all of the classics in one uniform configuration -- from Neve and API, to Trident, Universal Audio,  EMI and more. Our front end offers the best real world analog mic preamps, compressors and EQ's. For editing and capture, we utilize the latest Pro Tools software alongside Universal Audio's professional series interfaces (Apollo x Gen 2 + 36 cores of UAD DSP). Additionally, our entire facility is wired only with highest grade cabling from Mogami and Canare.

Why is analog so important?

If you are an audiophile then you know that the weight and dimension of your recording is best served by real world transformers, tubes and high fidelity components. Specifically crucial to any recording are your mic preamps on the front end before signal is captured into an editing system like Pro Tools. In days past, studios were married to a one console sound (a Neve, an SSL, a Trident etc). This approach is outdated and sonically very limiting. Throughout my career, I have used various consoles from all over the world and only fairly recently has the reality of combining consoles become a viable possibility. Today, we have the flexibility to interweave these consoles and preamp "flavors". This modern approach creates more sonic choice during production and ultimately leads to a more vibrant sound overall.
